Biography:

Ashley N. Hewitt is an Assistant Professor in the School of Criminal Justice at Texas State University. Prior to joining the faculty in 2017, she worked as a Research Assistant in the Institute for Canadian Urban Research Studies and the Centre for Research on Sexual Violence in Vancouver, Canada. She earned her PhD from Simon Fraser University where her dissertation focused on the identification of high-risk places and times for sexual crimes.

Her research interests largely focus on the application of environmental criminology principles to the study of sexual violence, as well as offender profiling and offender decision-making. Her more recent work has been published in Sexual Abuse: A Journal of Research and Treatment, Journal of Criminal Justice, Journal of Interpersonal Violence, and Policing: An International Journal of Police Strategies and Management.
